M9 Dublin-Waterford

The Route
The M9 is a section of motorway that goes from Kilcullen in Co. Kildare to Waterford. It begins at Junction 11 on the M7 motorway. It continues southwards from here bypassing large towns such as Kilcullen and Carlow. Going south it then bypasses Knocktopher, continuing then moving towards Waterford City. The final section of this motorway was completed and opened in March 2010.

The Association
The Team at MOTORWAYCARE have a long association with the building of the M9 motorway, having completed all the safety & noise barriers for a major section for Limerick based Roadbridge. The team then moved south to complete the final stage. The final stage built by BAM was the team's biggest challenge; there was a requirement for H4 barrier (very high containment) over several bridges skewed with very difficult design issues. These high containment systems that were within the team's product range, required modifications in order to meet all specification requirements. The team succeeded in tailoring these high containment systems, meeting both site design issues and high specification demands in maintaining EN 1317 standards. These systems then acted as a template to overcome similar issues throughout other motorway networks.
This motorway was also constructed in record time and well within tight budgetary demands.
